It's almost time
Hey everyone this is Hunter Pangia signing in and welcome back to another blog! As spring break is coming up for my school I am closing in on the quarter so it's crucial that my grades are in order. Some of my teammates will be on vacation during spring break so it will be harder to pinpoint exactly when my group and I are filming, but it will happen soon. With track taking me out of school it's been hard to keep up and stick to my normal regime which is why this week is crucial for me. Everything is set for my opening sequence and I am swelled to get started on the total production but I have other priorities at the moment. A weekend is the best time to film but the track has simply been taking up that time that I desperately need. To give an update on the actual production itself I have set everything up to film at my friend's garage it's just a matter of when all of my team can make it at this point. I have a handful of classes that I need to prioritize although this is my true passion. School is the very thing that takes away from my mental health and in order to film I need to be fully present at the moment. I have been researching a lot of strategies to use to make films seem cinematic. I have already researched how titles work, how opening sequences are formatted, and what opening sequences should include but I haven't learned how to give an opening sequence that feels. When I researched, it was said that lighting and camera quality are key to making a film seem like a film. The camera that will be used to film this video is really high in quality but there is just one issue. When you put the film into let's say the editing software that has to be used compresses in quality because it doesn't support the camera's quality. On top of that when the film is uploaded to youtube it compresses even further. I need to find other software that won't render this high-quality film however it does cost money to do so. To find good lighting I think I will borrow my sister's ring light she has to get some footage for when the actors are in darker areas. To give that dark feeling, the research said to edit the contrast and lighting once the filming is completed. It was also said to make sure there are no smudges in the camera lenses as well as catches. If the camera lens interferes with the close-ups, long shots, etc will all look wrong. With these tips, I feel more motivated to elevate this final task. That concludes another blog and this is Hunter Pangia clocking out.
