Genre Research Comedy

 Camera angles, Shots, and movement 

   Medium shots, over the shoulder shots, two shots, close ups, and long shots are all common camera angles in comedy. All of these camera angles contribute to the success of comedies. A happy and uplifting music, brighter lighting to represent the comic part of the film (making it happier).

Mis-En-Scene

Clothes in comedy films consisting of brighter colors and vibrancy, and props in comedy films are generally wacky, amusing, or stupid are all common Mise En Scene utilized in comedy films. Props usually include funny gadgets or things to humiliate the characters in a way that it's fun. Actors play a crucial part in comedy films because without them there would be no development and nothing funny.

Editing 

    In comedy films, editing techniques include having precise scene timing, editing as though the sequence was not filmed on one camera (using separate clips from numerous cameras for the same scene), Cuts, and adding or removing unnecessary frames. In comedy, editing isn't of importance because the film makers mainly want to focus on the humor. Editing is important in when animating the animated characters in real person films.

    Sounds 

Upbeat cheerful music, laughing sound effects, and character conversation are all common sounds in comedy films. Sometimes in an comedy they switch to suspenseful music as a set up to the pun or humor act being made.

    Comedy films include Bad Trip, Coming 2 America, Afterlife, Space Jam: A New Legacy.

    The way this genre makes the audience feel is one of the elements in this genre that we enjoy. The goal of this genre is to make the audience laugh and smile. The editing qualities of this genre would be used as elements. The acting is also what's we enjoy the most because they are the ones who bring the laughter and joy out of us. The costumes are also very appealing to the naked eye and bring the feelings of joy. 

Sound in this genre is not attractive; with the genre we up adopting, we would not be able to employ the same sorts of sound used in comedy films. Another non attractive element is the editing in  our opinion due to the fact that it takes away from the humor.

All in all, comedy is a great genre and we love its purpose which is to bring joy to peoples lives. We love this genre, it's funny and uses lots of techniques to bring humor out of a movie.

Things are looking good!

 Hey everyone this is Hunter Pangia back with another blog and I hope you all are having a great Sunday as you know I am. Today is the Super Bowl, so I will be watching it with family, but I wanted to update everyone on my progress. The props have been purchased and my group and I started filming yesterday. I got through the first opening sequence with them and it's relatively easy because I did one last year as my final task. It is more hard making it shorter as I only have five minutes to film this entire process but I am up for the challenge. Me and Kazmin have similar acting styles so it was easy to have that comradery. I got some good shots of myself plotting with Kaz with Noura filming. I was in my room with Kaz and I was able to get the part filmed where I was plotting how Kaz and I are going to make money.  This process took almost two hours which is pretty long. Short Film Research:Omnibus : Comedy

 Hey everyone, welcome back to another one of our research blogs. Today we will be digging in and looking into the Short Film Omnibus, a comedy. This film was made by Sam Karmann and won the Oscar in the 1992-1993 awards season. It portrays a Frenchman trying to get off of a train at a stop which it wasn't scheduled for.  In this film, the sound starts off as some cheesy movie intro, giving us this pattern that that's how a short film comedy should start. On the train in this film, all you could hear was the sound of the engine along with the dialogue between the Frenchman and the worker on the train. The idea of minimum sound is now starting to become a pattern we have noticed through the short films we have analyzed so far.  When analyzing the Mis-en-scene in this film, the costumes are usually oversized for the main character who has to well be humorous.
